Multitasking myths

"Don't multitask. Work on one task at a time. Multitasking is a myth, and trying to do it only splits your focus." I've argued this point with my wife for years. The brain can only focus on one thing at a time. We may have many tasks that demand our attention, but the only way to be successful is to prioritize those demands so that we attempt to accomplish the most important item first, then the second, then the third. We may have to re-prioritize often as new items arise for us to deal with, but we must focus our attention on one important item at a time.

Gratitude

"If you stop to THINK, then you have cause to THANK."  -quote from a church sign. This quote reminds me of the Zig Zigler addage that we should have an "attitude of gratitude" in our lives. When we think about the real ironies of our lives, then we should have much to be thankful for. If we don't find that gratitude in our lives, then perhaps we are never fully appreciative of what we have been given, of the things that are truly meaningful in our lives, and perhaps we are never able to find the peace and happiness that we deserve. Let us always be thankful for what we have and for what we might have so that we know we are blessed and that we may find peace.
